Sponsor an Animal...

Donate | Sponsor an Animal | Fundraising | Wishlist

Have you always wanted to adopt a cat or dog but you can't due to allergies, living arrangements, or other life circumstances?

Do you want to take home every animal you see at the sanctuary but can't even adopt one because you already have a full house?

Do you need to get a present for someone who already has everything?

Did someone ask you what you want as a gift but you already have everything you need and want?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should SPONSOR an ANIMAL that is living at HEA and needs your help!

A year's sponsorship is: $100 for a cat and $150 for a dog

This sponsorship allows the animal's everyday needs to be met while they are staying at the sanctuary as well as helps cover any veterinary care they need throughout the year.

When you become a sponsor for a cat or dog in need at the sanctuary, you will receive a photograph of the animal and a letter from them to tell you how they are doing. You are also more than welcome to schedule a visit.

Feel free to select an animal pictured below that doesn't have a sponsor yet or let us know if you would like us to pick the animal that is in the most urgent need of a sponsor.

Please send sponsorship donations to:

Dogs to Sponsor
Alfie
Hi Everyone. I'm Alfie. It says sponsor me because most people wouldn't be willing to adopt a dog like me because I have some problems controling my bowel and bladder movements. They think what probably happened is I slipped a disc or somehow incurred some nerve damage as that seems the only likely reason for my problem as I haven't always had it. But I do now so its just something that we deal with here at HEA. I still am a more than happy little man. I love to go out and play with the big dogs and chase them around and bite at their ankles! I also greatly enjoy getting attention from the volunteers here. It is so much fun keeping everyone company. So if you want to support my care at HEA, please consider being my sponsor! Maybe even come play with me some day too, that would be way cool! ~Love, Alfie

Buddy
Hey, let’s play! Buddy here, looking to have a good time with a family of my own. I was surrendered to Happily Ever After cause I nipped a biker in the back of the calf. I’m not sure what got into me. I think I was confused or something because I am not a mean soul. I also have the a little issue with being grabbed by my collar when I am being sassy. This is how my old owners used to reprimand me and because of that I get a little testy. I need someone that understands my quirks and would love me anyway. My favorite things in the world are playing with other dogs and teasing humans with toys. I really love to have company of the canine or human kind and get very lonely when kept alone. I know I made a mistake in my past but please don’t let that stop you from giving me a future. I promise to love you forever. Jumps and Kisses, Buddy

Igor
IGOR IS NOT UP FOR ADOPTION AS HE WAS SENTENCED TO LIFE AT HEA. BUT HE WANTS EVERYONE TO KNOW HE IS HERE AND THAT HE KNOWS HE IS LOVED. Hello Everyone! My name is Igor. I am NOT up for adoption, I just want people to know I am here in case you are looking for someone to sponsor. I will need sponsors continuously because a judge has "sentenced" me to live out my life at Happily Ever After. I'll tell you one thing, that is much better than what I was first sentenced to...that was death by euthanasia. You see my owner brought me to a dog park where I went after a small dog. The small dog ended up being euthanized and the town I was in wanted me euthanized too. They thought I was dangerous. Well thank goodness several animal welfare people and organizations got involved and HEA was able to save me from death. I spent 6+ months in a city shelter with no contact with people or the outdoors. I just recently (March 2009) got moved to Happily Ever After. Here I have indoor/outdoor access all the time which I think is amazing. I get to bask in the sun and play with toys. Only the staff can handle me but they always tell me when people ask about me or send love my way. They said some people write or call and ask about how I am doing and some people are even sending toys and treats for me. So if you ever do any of those things I will find out and send my love back to you. Thank you all for supporting me and giving me a second chance at life and to live Happily Ever After....Forever Grateful, Igor

Jack Pine
Hi, I'm Jack Pine. I am not available for adoption but am looking for someone to sponsor my stay at Happily Ever After. I am a pretty great dog but I have issues with biting and I am fairly unpredictable. I don't mean to be such a pain but I just am! The people at Happily Ever After still love me though so that's the important thing! I LOVE to play and could play fetch all day long. I have a special kong fetching toy that I love. So if you wouldn't mind sponsoring me, I would be forever grateful! ~Barks, Jack Pine

Lexis
Jumps and kisses, I’m Lexis. You have to come and see me, there is no way you cannot fall in love with me…I just know it. So currently, my one downfall is that I have to be taken out potty often as I was taught it was okay to go in my kennel at the shelter I was at previously. Since coming to Happily Ever After, I have made huge strides in this area. As long as I am left out after I eat and drink my breakfast and my supper I do a pretty good job of making it outside. So I am definitely trainable, as a matter of fact I was once housebroken as I was in a foster home that let me out frequently. Beside the fact that I have that minor downfall, which I am working on diligently, everything else about me is pretty darn wonderful, at least I think so. My “favoritest” thing to do in the whole world is play with toys. I love to get big plush toys and carry them around and shake them. Since I do enjoy doing this, small dogs and cats are probably not a good choice of companions for me but other big dogs are probably okay. I get along famously with my son Trisket, although once and a while I do have to “tune him up” a little! The other thing you must know about me is I love food and I do share quite well. So if you have lots of food and toys, and oh, don’t forget human attention, I would love to come live with you soon! ~Licks of Love, Lexis

Lisa and Loni
You can probably tell by my body language in the picture that I am a little scared of people yet (especially people with a camera in their hand)! I’m Lisa and I am a 2 year old (that’s what the vet thinks) Great Pyrenees mix (possibly with St. Bernard or Collie or Australian Shepherd). I am a really sweet, loving girl once I get to know you (actually I am sweet even when I don’t know you, it’s just that I am shy at that point too). I came from Thyme and Sage Ranch so on top of the lack of human interaction, I probably experienced some abuse from the hand of a man. This has made me slow to trust people here at the sanctuary, but it hasn’t made me any less of an awesome companion. I especially feel comfortable when I am in the company of some of my friends at the sanctuary. My sister, Loni, and I will rough house sometimes and Ally and I chase each other up and down the big hill at the sanctuary. I know how to let loose and have fun once and a while and I would never have done that when I first arrived, so I’ve come a long way (they used to have to carry me outside to go to the bathroom…now I go out all on my own). I also get VERY excited when I see a leash! I absolutely love going for walks. If you don’t think you would mind getting to know me and slowly becoming my friend and forever companion I would sure love that. And I am sure that a walk everyday would help me get to know you even faster! Longing to be your friend, Lisa

Hello to One and All. I’m Loni a 2 year old (estimated by the veterinarian) Great Pyrenees mix (possibly with St. Bernard, Collie or Australian Shepherd…you pick). I came to HEA at the end of May with 48 of my other friends. We were rescued from Thyme and Sage Ranch and needed someplace to go until we could find our forever families. My friends and myself have finally been released from court custody and can officially start looking for our forever families. Which is why I’m here today… in hopes that maybe you could be it! Even if you’ve read about my sister Lisa, keep reading about me because we are polar opposites! I was shy like her when we first got to the sanctuary, but now that I have been with people on a daily basis for quite a many months, I am no longer shy. As a matter of fact, when you get me out of the kennel, I may just jump up on you to make sure you know I’m there! I also love going for walks, however, I do stop and take many “hug” breaks. I am truly a wonderful dog and would love to be your hugging machine. You must need a hugging machine in your life don’t you!? XOXO, Loni

Misty
My name is Misty. I would love to tell you a little about myself. I was turned into a shelter in Michigan with my puppies. My puppies were all adopted out and I was left alone. A long time came and went and I was still waiting for my forever home. A friend of mine contacted Happily Ever After to see if they would be willing to take me in as the people running the shelter weren't going to be able to save me much longer. Happily Ever After agreed to take me and the people from the Michigan shelter were all wonderful and came with me on a ferry ride to Wisconsin. They left me here with many good wishes and now I am looking for a home. I am a sweet, sweet girl. I absolutely love people. Nothing makes me happier than having visitors! I am great with kids and love to give sweet, gentle kisses. My new favorite thing to do is lay on the couch and have my belly scratched. When I play, I prefer plush toys or something soft that I can carry around easily. Hope you come see me soon! I would love to have visitors! Thinking of you, Misty

Update: As of June 2008, I will have been with Happily Ever After for 2 years. I get along great with male dogs, as a matter of fact, I have 3 boyfriends that I go out and play with. I promise to be a great addition to your family, please give me a chance at a new life.

Angelina
Hi there....I'm Angelina. I tested FELV positive. However, if anyone has a really big heart and doesn't care that I have FELV, I would love a home. I have been told that my chances of being adopted are not great because I have FELV, however, I have also been told there are some people out there who wouldn't care...so I thought I would ask for a house! If you don't think you could take me home but think I am cute and want to sponsor me that would be way cool. I will live out my life at the sanctuary and would love to have a friend out there to support my stay here! I am a beautiful, sweet, shy, but loving girl. You could even come just visit me if you'd like. My friends and I would love company! ~Kisses, Angelina
