We shared our 2010 goals with many of you at our Kick Start meeting in January and a few short months later, one of those goals is becoming reality. HEA will be opening a satellite adoption center on Holmgren Way… a few short blocks from Lambeau Field. On any given day at the adoption center you will find around 35 cats and drop in on the weekends and some of HEA’s dogs will be there to greet you! The facility will also serve as a location to purchase all your favorite HEA and animal merchandise!
We are sure all of our HEA supporters are going to want to get involved to make this adoption center a huge success so here are some ways for everyone to help make a difference:
• The facility will be completely volunteer run which means there is an opportunity to “get your hands dirty” and help take care of the kiddos! We need volunteers to commit to volunteering at least one night a week. The new adoption center will be open to the public on weeknights from 6pm-8pm. We would like volunteers to be there around 5:30pm to get a start on cleaning the kids before the public arrives! This means total volunteer hours on a week night are between 5:30 and 8:00pm(maybe a few minutes later if there is any clean up to do). This will be cats only.
• On the weekends, our hours are going to be much longer and we will have dogs at the center so we are going to need even more “(wo)man power”. Our hours at the adoption center on the weekends will be from 11am-4pm. We will want volunteers to commit to at least one of the two shifts. 11-1:30pm and/or 1:30pm-4pm.
• Monthly Sponsors: This person/people/business will be recognized by a plaque on the wall at the adoption center (during the month sponsored) as well as on our website and in our newsletter. Monthly sponsorship for the adoption center is $500. This covers the building rent as well as utilities.
• Equipment Sponsor: There are a lot of pieces of “equipment” that are needed for the adoption center. Sponsor a cage or whole kennel unit, a washer/drier, the counter, and the list goes on… you will be recognized on a plaque at the adoption center.
